    best mod ever!

ok got the idea after looking under the hood of an e32...got all the parts from it... all i did was take a cutting wheel...trim a tiny bit off one of the existing holes under the hood...drill a hole for the striker and thats it...i used my parking lights for power...works amazing! loads of light!!!!

    the light

    striker

before i did the wiring...but finished product

does anyone else hate how the e30's hood pops up like that?
it looks cool, but makes it so much harder to do stuff under the hood....atleast for me

I'm surprised that BMW didn't include these. My 87 Corvette had dual under hood lights, but would come on when the hood was opened and if you left the hood open all night, you might have a weak/dead battery in the morning.

Pulling the battery out of a C4 was a bit of a PITA

I hate checking/adding oil cuz you have to walk around the whole car :(

OP: that's really a good idea

90s Suburbans have a light on a reel under the hood with about 6 feet of cable on them.

That's pretty nice, especially since it's an OEM part...

6 bolts and a clip and the hood is off. Not a big deal.
