see, that is what I dont get. Why not just get a 6 cylinder 325, put a good suspension on it, and drop the weight by 2-300 pounds. You have best of both worlds.

Drive an M3 in its appropriate element (open track), and you will quickly understand the benefits over a vanilla e30. An e30 325is with mods will be 85% of an M3 for 1/3 the cost, but it's still not in the same league as the M car.
On the street, who cares? These cars are rare and finnicky enough as to not make good daily drivers. It really bugs me to see kids running them into the ground for that purpose.

Well I'm 33 so you won't see "a kid" driving one into the ground if I get oneOriginally posted by CharlieIt really bugs me to see kids running them into the ground for that purpose.

Brodee I highly suggest meeting up with a local E30 M3 racer or anyone who has a modified M3 and go for a ride along."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

I can't believe peope who like the E30 M3 care about how fast it is in a straight line.
You people disgust me. :evil:Comment

I'm not talking about fast in a straight line. All I said is that I was disapointed in the power in general. I took it around sme hard corners and a couple wide sweepers and it was fun, just not what I was expecting. I just posted the question to find out if this was normal or if this one had issues.Originally posted by GreekDriverI can't believe peope who like the E30 M3 care about how fast it is in a straight line.

Ok it must just be me.... But no one noticed that that vehicle is not US compliant... It's a Canada spec car regardless of the door jamb saying BMW M3 USA
Edit as far as the E30 M3's not being fast that is BS They are but you need to work them to be fast. Soft on torque due to being a medium sized 4 cylinder with 4 valves per head contribute to not the greatest TQ. But windem out with the added 1100 rpm and you can have a fun car.
Not jump marque's the same was said when the 16v Scirocco came out. Same displacement 39 more hp and 19 lbs or tq but it had the same fat tq curve so it felt NO faster yet it was by over 1 sec due to the added 1k of revs ( less shifting to 100km.
Hope this helps....
Edit again, becareful I don't like the way the sticker looks on the door jamb. I see two tone red looks like a repaint to me dig deeper Will Rodgers....
See the Canadian inspection sticker.... Hmmm carfax this car...

It doesn't comply with NHTSA aka DOT... It might not pass emissions and doesn't have a US speedo.

Actually I did notice that it was Canadian, if you read my earlier post I talk about driving it with the speedo being in KMH instead of MPH. I'm not buying the car, didn't have an intention to, just wanted to drive it. I have been looking at M3's and this one happened to show up locally, but it was way rougher and not as clean as I want if I get one.
The guy gave me a story about how they didn't make a US spec M3 in '91 and the only way to get one was to bring them in from Canada, yada, yada, yada.
