It's the typical american street rod, all show- no go. There would actually be less boost with more turbos, and the lag.... ....it would take forever for it to spool up. Which would mean if he ever took it to a drag strip, he'd get beat by NA (naturally aspirated) V8s.Comment

The last time this was posted someone made a very good point which made sense. This guy probably did it just to be original. There are tons of guys out there running huge single turbos or twin turbos on domestic V8s. Those cars make tons of horsepower but its about as popular as M50 swaps to us. When was the last time you saw a car with 8 turbos? It's a show car. Plain and simple. More for the wow factor than the tire shredding, dragstrip dominating, ethanol chugging, sub 8 second time slip loving crowd. I admire him for doing what he wanted to do in the face of such criticism, and having the bank to back it up.Comment

Ture, but most people aren't going to be "wow'd". More like "WTF".Originally posted by riverdale21The last time this was posted someone made a very good point which made sense. No I'm not.
I'm not saying the guy is a douche, but with it being a show car, most people that go to car shows know a thing or two about performance and aren't going to be wow'd.
Is'nt that why people bust on ricers, for adding "performance options" that don't really add performance but do it for "show"?Comment

I don't think anyone could argue that an 8 turbo LS1 (in a very classic body, the '57 chevy) is along the same lines as a cavalier with a park bench on the trunk, cut springs, and a 6" exhaust tip...Originally posted by jimi318isNo I'm not.

except for the whole fact that...no actually, not.
cavalier : ugly and slow
inciner8tor: nice looking and fast
last time i checked 730 HP was pretty fucking fast. considerings it has over 4 times as much HP as most of the cars here will ever have.
apples and oranges man, you made an example of a car that someone put no love into, and compared it to a car thats obviously had a great deal of time spent on it.
when did everyone start looking at cars from such a rationalistic point of view. sure its ridiculous, but so is our obsession with aging BMW's. This car's not meant to be looked at like a goddamn race car. You dont look at an F1 car and say "boy, this thing doesnt have any luggage space" or "fuck, i cant make out with my girlfriend in this". No. you respect it because it's a goddamn f1 car.

People are hillarious! No one on this board understands the work that goes into a project like this, No one on here understands what its like to do anything outside of putting some springs or new wheels on your car. For the people that do know about engine tuning, building, and custom fabricating I comend you. I like how know takes into consideration the work and custom everything on this vehicle and how hard it must actually be to obtain that 700+ horsepower from this setup, the engine management that has to be in place, the chassis work to support this setup, and the all custom interior and body work that make it look good. If you want a supra built by someone else, go buy one, if you want a 900+ horsepower Skyline go buy all the parts that make it happen. But for all of you that buck the catalog and go out and make it yourself, mad props.Comment

In no way was I saying his car was "rice", I was just saying that for the same reasons I bust on ricers with " cold air intakes" ( that suck HOT air in) big ass mufflers, electric turbos, bid fucking wings......are doing the same thing this guy did....."show" not go.
As far as: "It's only for decoration, that's it and that's all", that is what I'm saying, turbos are not for decoration. Holy Shit!
If I saw a civic with four turbos I would laugh my ass off, even if it was done with great craftsmanship.
Like I said before, I don't think the guy is a dumb ass for doing it. I'm just putting my opinion out there, what, are we all suppose to be like: wow this guy is a god!
And as far as "No one on this board understands the work that goes into a project like this", I have a surpra that I'm in the process of redoing with a custom sheet metal intake and piping w/ custom made intercooler (by me) and a stand alone fuel management system, yeah I think I know a thing or two about this shit, and yes it's a lot of work, but that's one reason I think it's ridiculous, "form follows function" not the other way around.
But if you like it I don't care, I'm just saying what I think, not everyone has to agree with it  And yes, I would give him "mad props" for pulling it off, but still think it was a waste. So shoot me for having a fucking opinion.Comment
