I would guess the car was built for show and most likely for the ISCA circuit. If that is the case then things like that are what it takes to win. Something different that stands out and grabs everyone's attention when they walk by, that's what the ISCA wants, functional or not. And considering the purse is worth over $250,000 at the end of the season that could be some function right there
I grew up around the ISCA, my Dad has an all steel 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe. We showed it all over the country. I've seen him lose many times to fiberglass cars with all new parts and less original work involved but the other cars had the "wow" factor that gets people looking and talking. Dad didn't build his car for show, he built it the way he wanted it, so he doesn't care about winning trophies, I'm guesing this guy does.
Any way you look at it, the guy accomplised what he wanted, people are looking at, and talking about his car. When's the last time any of our cars were cross posted on other boards??
