fuck that sucks. I had something similar happen to me about 6 months after i bought my car. i ended up fixing it though

does the power antenna work, and do you want to sell it? If you're in riverside CA i'll pick it up with cash in hand.

Coulda sold it to me, it would not have rear ended someone, and would have a bumper swap by now. poor car.

Seriously why are you taking the cluster out and all that? What does that have to do with your front end damage?

And as someone said earlier, you'll likely get faulted for following too close. Did the police come? Who got the ticket(s)?

Sorry to the bearer of bad news chief, but you are at fault, at least for hitting the car in front of you.

You can concoct any if/and/but/whatever scenario you choose, but it boils down to the fact you were following closely enough that YOU did not have time to stop or you suck at emergency threshold braking. Either way its your fault.

Still sucks, sorry about the wreck.

^ Yup, I believe it will be labelled as "Failure to reduce speed," which sounds very correct in this situation.

This is all assuming the police showed up at the scene.

So bumper to bumper traffic doing like 30 mph? Not sure exactly how fast you would have to go in order to do that but I know it's more then 10! (My car looked far less worse at 10)

The car in front is the luckiest, and then the ford since I think you said they didn't hit the other car after you hit them. If you hit them and they hit the car in front they would also be "following too close". Enjoy your raised rates and try not to 'Hog as much space'.

You are an idiot for disassembling the car before the insurance adjuster has inspected it. You are almost close enough for me to drive over and smack you in the back of the head. And today is my day off. Really a stupid move. Did I mention you should not have done that?

This makes me sad. The car was in terrific mechanical shape when I sold it to you with the exception of the rear wheel bearing. You owned the car for 9 months and you've had a wheel come off after you didn't tighten your lugs down all the way, you've ruined the front seats, and now you've rearended someone else. And I bet you still haven't fixed the wheel bearing.

Did you have more than liability on the car? If not, that's probably why you're still waiting for an insurance adjuster. He's never going to come. Liability insurance only covers the people you hit, not you.

I think you're doing the right thing. Strip the car and get yourself a Honda. Or sell it to Farbin for a couple hundred bucks and let him fix it.

for the benefit of those searching this forum in the future- THIS is the definition of "R3V'ing" a car............

                          ;)

Oh, and I completely agree with Cabin Fever. Please tell us what the insurance adjuster says about your car once he looks at it....

Not waiting for appraiser? That is a stupid move my friend.

How their offer will be 5th of what it could be, and you'll be buying your car back for $200. What was your logic?

Don't you know a car is worth more torn apart than intact?
