Matt is right. That is a pic of a luxury packaged E36 M3. The lux package included the wood trim you see, more luxuries leather stitched door inserts, chrome inner door handles, seats used in the E36 M3 Sedan (whether the car in question is 2 or 4 doors), normal E36 side skirts, front slatted grill without lip, and other little items like heated seats, hk sound etc....

My opinion, the lux package blows.

Now that my rant is over, again, no those are not vaders.

E36 Sport Seats. That car is a lux M3, but you could also get the seats in other models. My buddy has them in his '95 cabrio.

And I'm guessing that car is a sedan since it doesn't have the lever on the side of the seat to flip it forward.

The Vaders have the seperate upper piece that is the headrest as you can see in the pic from my M3.

The car is a coupe with lux package, not sedan. You can see the seat "flip forward" lever on the very side of the seat, it is directly in the bottom left corner of the picture. Also, as stated, there are only two window switches.

There is no other factory trim besides wood for the E36. You're only alternative is Carbon Fiber peices (very expensive) or the factory black console replacements. Either way, it will be expensive.

You want my opinion? If you want vaders and not wood trim, DO NOT BUY a lux M3. However much of a "good deal" you think you're getting, it will be negated by the fact that you'll want different front seats and different trim, not to mention the front spoiler and side skirts suck ass on a lux m3 too. Don't buy the car, it would be stupid, keep looking and you'll find something else.

Actually other than the cost of the vaders the rest wouldn't be that bad. The front spoiler is only $85 new from the dealer and the insert in the bumper grille can be changed cheaper than that. As for replacing the trim pieces there is nothing there that is specific to an M3 so find someone parting out a coupe and buy their parts. You could probably even find someone that would trade you your wood for the factory pieces, some people actually like the wood.

If you like the car and are getting that good of a deal on it then that's the extra costs you're looking at. If it's not that great of a deal then like C ///M said just get a non lux model.

What are the specs on the car? What year? If it were me I wouldn't get that one, I'd get a '95 so you have OBD1. Lot's more you can do to the engine later.

well, im not really going to mod the engine. maybe a sport suspension and some cosmetic stuff but thats pretty much it.
                      its a 1997, with 90k miles for $16k
im grabbing it because theyre the only peeps that i have found that will finance me and have an m3, so i dont have to much of a choice.

there are a ton of E36 M3s out there for ~$15k with similar or lower miles, $16k isn't really a special deal.

If you have finance problems then you may have problems getting insurance on it. Make sure you get a quote before you buy it. Since I work for an insurance company I see people come in all the time that end up with a premium higher than their payment.
