    automatic to 5speed conversion !!!!!

    .....sure see alott of nice e30's lately with automatic trannys(blah) for decent prices.

    Q..how much of a pain-in-the-ass is it to convert one. anyone done this conversion?! :D

    this has been covered tons of times. a search will be your best friend. but judging buy your sn..you've already done a swap? if youre mechanically inclined, then it should be a piece of cake. good luck buddy :up:

      I've done it on my 85 back in the day. These days it makes more sense to find a 5 speed car though. I needed the pedal assembly, wire up the reverse light switch, shifter console w/shifter + linkage, manual trans w/proper bracket, manual driveshaft w/guibo, brake fluid hose, flywheel(?), clutch kit of course, new slave cylinder. That's all i can think of.

          I have done two in the last month. Both taking about 10hrs each.

          Kinda a pita without pulling the motor. A two foot extension with a wobbly is your best friend in this process.

            thanks..I know of a very nice low milage BLACK 89' i been looking at here in NC for a while..it perfect except the auto

              You might want to think about going whole hog with an engine swap, at this stage in the game.
