    Dang rocks

I was cruising down the highway and the audi in front of me decided to kick up some rocks from the construction. I now have a nice big chip in my windshield that has grown to a 3 in crack since this morning. Freaking construction... any way to fix the crack?

cry me a river.. I get a new stone chip on my window almost every day. it's getting so bad I need to replace my window because it's so pitted and chipped I can barely see through it when the sun is out. no cracks though, but I have some nice long scratches.

if it's cracked you have to replace it.. if you have full coverage insurance they will usually pay for it.

Go to your insurance company and file a claim that someone threw a rock at your windshield when you weren't around the car. When I was in high-school, the same thing happened to me, so I made the bogus claim and got a new windshield.

no need to make a bogus claim josh.. if your window is cracked it's a safety hazzard and is actually illegal in some states.

call around and ask.. usually $200-$300. I'll probably do mine after this winter (no use in getting a new one all chipped and pitted)

Yea this is a great plan.
It really helps to raise insurance premiums across the USA when we all pretend that vandals broke parts of our cars!!!! YAY FOR THAT!

Oh, calm down you guys, jeez.

It was like 7 years ago when I did that, and I didn't think he was ACTUALLY going to do it.

in massachusetts, when you have comprehensive coverage, windshields are included and free, that mean you call 1-800-54-GIANT and they come to your house, change your windshield and all you need to tell them is your insurance company and name, you can get a new windshield weekly if your heart so desired. :D
