So I just bought myself a dedicated track beastie. 1987 325is. I have an E39 M5 which I love but it just isn't economical for the track. Tires, oil changes, etc. are just too much on that car
. The 325is's odometer stopped at 159k miles - im not sure how many miles are on the clock at this point. She's been stripped, half caged, racing buckets with harnesses, Conforti software, exhaust, H&R springs, stress bars, sway bars, SSK, Hawk HT10's, R comps (RA1's), transponder hard wired, CAI setup through a light, splitter, 4.11 Rear L/S Diff, etc. She seems to run well but I don't know a lot about the M20 motors. I've been researching but there are a number of models it appears. How would I pull info on it - is there anyone in AZ that might be able to lend an ear and tell me if she is running well? I'm planning on changing all fluids, cap and rotor, spark plugs, etc. before I take it to the track. Any good advice for a first time E30 guy?
Here are the obligatory pics....
