              so, can someone explain the differential to me? are those hydraulic fluid lines going into it or some wacky shit? I'm seeing it and thinking in terms of lockers.

                It is a differential cooling system. Many Alpina cars of the same genre had this as well.

                  The car wa sold couple months ago I think, new owner it's unknown for me. Hope it's a gearhead or a wrencher and treat it like it should be.

                    uhh, here is a Hartge H35 and a H5SP...
                    the latter had a b34 with worked head,cam, headers and the ITB's from the M5... it was an e28 and this is one that was in Florida a long time ago...
