My friend took me over to some awesome roads in the boonies that you can test your handling on. It's a one lane stretch with hardly any light at all. They are in Folsom/El Dorado, and the road you want to get on is Salmon Falls Rd. from Green Valley Road. The road leads all the way out to Auburn/Newcastle I guess, but he turned around when he got to some bridge (Acorn Falls I think). We drove at night, but he advised me if I were to come back it be in the daytime. There are a couple of mean turns and sudden drops where if you are unfamiliar with, you could effectively get launched right off the road (there's even a cliff on one medium right). His Jetta had Neuspeed suspension and he said he could drive on them pretty fast, but since I was with him he didn't want to show off and kill us both. If you decide to drive over here, PM or e-mail me. I live like 10 minutes from this road and would be glad to show someone around.

NorCal is my native turf.....been here since, well.....a long-ass time. I love it here too. There's plenty of things to do if you know where to look/go. Anyone that thinks its lame hasn't ventured too far off the Interstate that got you up here. You need to try the road less traveled in these parts ;) In addition, life up here is at a reduced pace than SoCal. Its just different but still great in many respects.
DSchultz325e - Salmon Falls Rd. is great fun, but at night it can be quite hairy if you don't know it like the back of your hand (which I don't). During the day its much better but watch out for the cyclists! With the nearby mountain bike trails and all the folks from Sacto that converge up there to ride their road bikes it can seem crowded at times. If you head south into Amador county and head east towards the sierras there are lots of great roads. If you go in this direction during the winter months bring your chains or an iX

My friend told me today about Scott Road, too. Or at least, a street coming off of Scott Road. Do you know about it?I retired my E30 for now...

There are plenty of roads to keep you occupied out here. Dry Creek Road, Trinity Road and Oakville Grade are all about 5 minutes from my house.Originally posted by DSchultz325ethis is true, and also why I was impressed to find out there were roads like this out here.Originally posted by IL DUCEnor cal sucks
