I'm going to, I'm not going to leave it rusted and zip tie the rear, that was just goofy thinking out loud.

I'm thinking after I clean up the rust on the roof and around the windshield, about vinyl wrapping the roof and cowl, I have friends at a local sign/vinyl place, and they can put any color on vinyl wrap. Or maybe do something fun, like checkers or something like that. The rear will be easy, I'll just fix it, undercoat that area, and spraybomb it with as close of a color as I can find.

Do roof and sidestripes above the beltline in satin black or pearl white.

See now, all of those you posted (aside from the one that needs paint) are clean, tastefully done cars. You should definitely get rid of that rust, and fix the little blemish on the bottom of the rear of the car. Don't leave the rust and stitch with zip ties.

I can understand thinking that the whole VW ghetto, rusted out thing looking kind of neat in pictures, but when you actually see them they just look like the shitty cars that they are. Trust me, you will grow tired of getting a car and seeing rust every time.

Those ones you posted are so nice. Just go for the same look but on a lesser budget. Get the paint matched, drop it and clean it up like you already plan. It'll be a nice little driver.

WHY DO E30 OIL PANS HAVE TO BE IN THE WAY!!!!!!!!!! ^^^^

The Rabbit is now in my garage. It's from Salem, OR originally, the glovebox still had the owner's manual and the booklet from the dealership. The dashboard is almost perfect, there's only one kinda big crack and 2 other tiny ones. The body is perfect except for minor rust on the roof, and around the front windshield, and one very minor (not even a) dent in the passenger side door. I also got 2 engines minus heads, but with manifolds and 2 manual trannies, all still for $100.

Don't you dare try to clean that dash board with any sort of liquid!!!! still sweet anyhow....
