That one pictures is front engine rear wheel drive using a mitsu starion rear end. the purple on made by sp is rear engine using a porsche rear subframe. The blue on is my favorite VW. That is how the corrado should have come from the factory!

I would take that RWD raddo over an e30 any day.

I've never encountered a twin engined v8 polo/lupo but there is this guy with a twin 24 valve vr6 Lupo.

Oh my God. I read that entire thread... holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a sick little lupo. I can't even believe it! I hope it handles better than the w12 gti though... such a small wheel base for so much power.

These 3 photos are from 1973 and taken in Hemet California. I had three of the Type 2's and they were very different from each other.

The blue Baja Kombi was my favorite and had the Safari windshields. It had a 1600 dual port engine. Inside of it in this photo is one of Malcolm Smith's Husqvarna factory race bikes, the prototype for the 250 six speed. This was the first of a few Husky factory race bikes that found their way to my garage via Malcolm.

The red 23 window Deluxe had all the trim removed when I got it, but still had all the good stuff inside. It was powered by a big bore 40 horse engine.

The beige 1967 is a Westfalia Campmobile without the pop top. I normally ran an 1835 DP engine, but for a trip to Colorado and Wyoming I wanted something with more torque and that didn't run as hot. I borrowed the 1906 from my bug for the trip. It didn't get great fuel economy, but it sure flattened out the mountains.

Parked in front of the Westy is my bug that I no longer seem to have photos of. It was a 54 body on a 67 pan and had all the parts that were the "Must Have" stuff for that time period. Working at EMPI made that pretty easy to do.

I had a bunch of VWs at this time, but my daily driver was the AMX. It really, really used a lot of gas, but it was very quick.

Hey, an AMX! I had a 70 AMX. With the 401 and 4spd (390 broke the crank) headers, cam, intake, carb and ported dog leg heads. I got 16mpg with it on the interstate. And it was very quick also!

Cranks break when you are having too much fun, don't they? The forged 401 cranks seemed to be indestructible though. My AMX also had the 390. With that much power and a really short wheelbase you did need to stay on top of things or you were in deep shit.

In the mid 1980's I built a nice CJ7 Jeep. For an engine I had a 60 over 401 that made lots of power! It was one of the Mike Evan's built Roger Mear's Budweiser Honcho engines. If you aren't into hot AMC cars or older Off-Road racing history that won't mean anything.
