In my opinion, it doesn't matter what E30 you get, as long as it's a 5-speed. (My error on choosing my car) :(
Anyways, get an e30 that you will like, in both cosmetic, and mechanical condition. ie- if you want sport seats, plastic bumpers, and an m20 engine, go for that model e30 which has them in it.
I can't really describe it, but now that I'm more experienced in e30's, I'd say the reasons I bought my car were bad. I wish I would've waited to find the perfect one that fits my needs. (5-speed, black, sport seats, 89-91 325i)
edit: and now that I see it, I have all of the following wrong with my purchase (when I purchased it): Automatic, Bronzit, vinyl seats, sealed beams, diving boards, e engine. Heh. I'm just picky though.
