    Best brand of HID?

Curious as to the best brand. I've seen plenty of "cheapest" HID's threads, so hopefully this hasn't been covered.

*I stared looking for Bosch HID kits, but have read they don't actually make one and the stuff you see are knockoffs with Bosch on the packaging.

    Any truth to that?

Should I just go ProLumen and call it a day?

It's not about how money you spend on something. It's about the quality.

I want to buy an OEM/near OEM quality HID kit for the car. I have a hard time thinking a $55 kit from DDM is close to that level

My parents both have a set of the McCulloch 6000k H1 HID kit in their E34 M5 and E34 540i and have had zero problems. I'm not sure about availibility, but in my opinion they're well worth it and probably the only one I would consider for myself.

I bought my first pair from Apexcone (now DDM) about 4 years ago. I've never had a problem.

My first kit in '02 was a cheapo brand(at the time cheapo was $400), and it's still kicking around on another car today.

I've also had phillips($$$), XenTech(ebay), and most recently the DDM slim ballast kit.

There is absolutely no reason to NOT go with the DDM kit. Cheap, lifetime warranty, and it works great.

You know the germans make good stuff.

I have been running a $50 eBay kit for over a year now with no problems. I don't see why you would spend the extra money to get the same result. Get the warranty and you have nothing else to worry about.

Warranty, warranty, warranty. Habbie over on bfc had a good deal on prolumen. I've been rocking that set and the apexcone for over a year now. Quality shit with a lifetime warranty.
