I am new to the forum...and new to bmw. My only experience with them was with my ex gf's car (E36 328i) that I did a few bolt on mods for her as well as alot of cosmetic stuff.
Anyway, I fell in love with e30s a while ago but I have never owned one...and still don't. However, I am on a quest to find one right now. I have been a Honda boy since I was sixteen (go figure) and I am about over them now. I still love them but there is just something about a rwd 6 cylinder that is tickling my fancy that a honda can't please.
While I don't have alot of specialized experience in BMW's, I do have alot of knowledge of engines and mechanics in general (as I am a mechanical engineering student) therefore I can assure you that I will not ask stupid, uneducated, extremely repetitive questions like is common in alot of forums. In addition, if I give advice about something, it is solely based on my theoretical knowledge as all of my experience will be from a honda standpoint.
I look foward to learning about e30s and what not and any help is greatly appreciated. My completely naive plans as of now is either a built boosted M20 (which I have heard have terrible head flow) or a e36 m3 swap...whichever I find suits me best after research. This is going to be a long term project car and massive amounts of power aren't a priority. I just want a good torque curve maybe with a 340rwhp peak.
