Thanks guys!
I know the motor swap is a controversial issue with an M3, but it is what I have decided to do. This car will never be a museum piece, especially after the multiple paint jobs. I also have things like CA emissions (which just got tougher) and crappy gas to deal with, so a radical 2.5 is really not a good solution. I do think I will look for a nice stock low milage M3, which I would keep all stock. I think it would be fun to have both engine setups :)
CiLK WuRM, the diff is the large case version, though I would prefer to not ship. Wouldn't there be a closer place (to you) where you could get a diff?
Inspar8r, I will be stripping the car down to bare metal/fiberglass/plastic and doing the paint job the right way. They did not paint the engine well, so that is still red. It will be a major project, but worth it in the end.
Well, my car was scheduled for the cover of the January issue, though the editor has pushed it back again. He basically said that there are some nice cars showing up there in the UK right now, and being a UK magazine, they need to give priority to UK cars. He said he can run it sooner if I was ok with not getting the cover, or I can wait. I told him I would prefer to wait. I'll let you guys know what happens. His last guestimation was March.
Thanks!

good luck with the car... I am glad I got to see it how you got it (other than the wheels) so I can compare it to what you do with it.

Hey Dave,
Good to hear you decided on the engine for the M3........good choice IMO......enjoy building up that fine machine, afterall that's what you enjoy anyways :)
BTW, have you removed the sideskirts from your Cab yet? If so did you see how they were attached? Any drilling needed for the clips or did the clips attach to the rail under the doors? Thanks!
Later,
Chris
