I am surprised nobody has said Brigs and Stratton on the one end of the spectrum and General Electric 88 Turbofan at the other end.

There usually not bad but are very loud for a 4 turbo.

actually I would go with the N45

and the motor would probably swap right in my car :)
Not that I care, of course.

E-lectric  mounted low, vw/porsche transaxle, few batteries and capacitors, all mounted low, and a diesel generator to charge said setup, move all the weight down low, best of both worlds, fuel economy and power.

This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.

265hp and 258lb/ft. that must've been a special edition e30 you're thinking of. and every brand has lemons. don't think every bmw made has been a perfect car.

enough power stock to have traction issues in 4th

They are not fast! Drive a new gti with a 2.0T then come talk to me.

LS7 or s62 are the two I would want!

                              8.4 litre McLaren Can-Am V8.

Or from the BMW family it would have to be some sort of mighty 4-banger. Either a 2.3 litre DTM S14 variant or an S42 preferably. No turbo non-sense. Just high-revving high-compression high-octane.. noise.

They can be very fast, even the older 1.8T w/o FSI.... it depends on who and how it's done.
