Tahoe just got dumped with over 2 feet of snow, and tomorrow is blue bird skies. Perfect day to go snowboarding.
It will be the first time the iX will be driven in legit snow cover. The freeways are cleared but the backroads still have snow everywhere so it should be fun
I'll post up tomorrow night how everything went. The only thing I'm really worried about is smoking something on the road and ripping my IS front lip off. I really would hate to find and buy a new one.
Anyway, I'm super excited to see how the iX handles in the white stuff.
On a different note (not E30 related):
I went up to Northstar on Sunday with some friend's and my friend drove in his Exploder. It took us over 7 hours to get home, on a trip which normally takes 3.5 hours. It sucked. Chain control at the summit, and people who don't know how to drive in the snow made it pretty frustrating.
We were crawling at like 20mph when some cars in front of us hit some black ice. Everyone immediately hit the brakes or tried to avoid the cars. My friend tried to keep his tires spinning but we still ended up spinning a 270 on the middle of the highway. We barely missed hitting the center divider. We all breathed a sigh of relief but we turned to see a Honda Civic spinning toward us. It missed hitting his car by 2 inches, no joke.
It was so icy, that after we had spun out, we looked over at an Audi A8 that was next to us. It wasn't moving, basically parked. All of a sudden it just slid sideways and into the guard rail on the side of the highway
We drove really slowly all the way down the mountain.
