If you have a plastic mount, put it in the freezer and then break it. If you have a metal one, get creative with a hammer and make it look like it's broken from having fallen off. Put your front plate on the broken mount...

If you ever get stopped, it's, "Sorry, officer, I have it right here. With this old car things just break too easily. I'm lucky I was able to find it."

I put my plate on off to the side (with one screw) because i got two fix it tickets in 1 month of eachother, so i just slaped it on like this.
