I didn't know this until last week...
But when Marx did the regrind on the cam for my m20 he bored it as well.
He didn't tell me how much lost mass though.

maybe I'll mount mine on a hinge like I did with my miata so there is perfect flow at speed and normalcy at rest. And the best part is that it'll piss off the "purists" even more!

hinge with a spring behind--to return to position--then you could affect the spring tension to be an almost active aerodynamic feature.
