metal recycling place will usually take them if the gas tank is out.. I got 250ish for my 325i shell
How long ago was this?
This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.
I got rid of my e36 shell by building a couple of dollies, similar to furniture dolllies and putting the whole body on top. It was built up pretty high though. The towing guy just pulled up in a flat-bed, hooked the strut towers and dragged the whole thing onto the truck. Super easy.
It had no suspension, engine, tranny or interior, and they still took it.
Same here.... Ive cut up a totalled e30m3 and a few regular e30s. I always took all the struts etc. I put 2x10's under the shells and call the flatbed. They winch em up. The wood protects your floor and or driveway. Sometimes theyll pay you for them but most times its a freebie. Maybe its different in different areas. In gods country they know they better take it or it ends up at wayzata amoco.
I used that Junkmycar.com site before. They were really fast about it. But yeah it was free for them. I just gave them all the info and left the car unlocked with keys in it and they took it while I was at work, Left some paper work in my mailbox.
