teh parts to change to OBD1 are not expensive, you couyld do it for about 400. hell if it has all new parts you do not need a warantee.

OBD1:
95 and earlier intake manifold
wiring harness and DME
coils
and a couple other things

you dont need obd1 coils and 400 is a bit optimistic for an obd1 conversion even without coils. id say 600 if you shop wisely. if you did it for 400 congrats. thats a great buy

As far as I knew the Obd1 coils are different from the Obd2 and that they are not interchangable.

im running obd2 coils and have been for 10k hard driven miles. you can use them
you just need to wittle away at the underside of your obd2 valve cover to use the obd1 harness

when you guys are talking about coils... do you mean valve springs or what. sorry for the stupid question.

Brodee, if you know the engine (or can trust the owner) that is a plus.
And I would think putting it together yourself and already being apart is a BIG plus.

And any possible way to find a S50 head and just stick it on there, wouldn't that take care of the majority of the OBD-I conversion, maybe get some other parts from someone parting one.

And Drew, I think they are referring to direct ignition coil packs, or whatnot, the things that make the spark plugs do their thing.
