Most annoying setback of all time

I just got fucked out of $1100 that I was supposed to get to save for my car.

My wife does babysitting and nanny services for people around the city, and was supposed to do a job for a couple leaving town for 11 days, to watch their 2 kids. She would be with the kids 24-7, and stay at the house. She was to be paid $1100 when they got back, which she was going to give to me to save for a new E30.

They told her today, and she was supposed to start on Thursday, that they have changed their minds and won't be going now.

Funny how people don't seem to give a fuck that things they do affect more people than themselves. Now at this point, I probably won't have a car when I get my license back on Dec. 12th.

"Today's the 12th, here's your license back, Mr. Anderson." Gee, thanks, maybe I'll go stick it up my ass.

I have to say that does suck, but alas things happen. At least you didn't do the work, and then not get paid. That would have been much worse.

And heh, it was only $100 a day, right? If you use Ryan's idea, you could make $100 a hour or so.

Be strong, and keep your focus. Don't let people stealing wheels, ebay shenanigans, or having nannying cancelled get you down. You got through buying a fucked up car and came ahead, so don't let something like this worry you too much. Just look ahead.

I thought people might think that, and I understand what you mean. I was REALLY pissed when I posted it, and still am. I realize they didn't do it on purpose to screw me and I understand that things come up, but there are better ways of dealing with it.

That being said, having to rely on an 1100 dollar payday that is actually his wife's certainly does not seem like a secure financial situation to me. I wouldn't be spending my money on a 15+ year old car with plans to mod if I was on that shaky of ground.
