    OEM Paint

    Where can I get the oem paint codes or whatever I need to get the oem paint. Need to paint my front bumper and valence.

    front drivers side strut housing. There is a sticker that say your colors name and code...unless its not the cars original color.

      Doh, I knew the name was there didn't remember the code was too...

      Napa would carry these products?

        Most NAPA stores should carry paint for bodyshops, although not all of them have mixing machines-at least around here.

        My friend that paints recommends BASF R&M as he finds it easy to spray and since the base reduces 2 to 1, so you won't have to buy as much basecoat paint to do the job. You could also go with BASF Glasurit, but it is more expensive. We used their R&M line on my car during the repaint.

          I would use PPG for all you paint supply needs, that all I have ever used.

            DuPont or ppg seem to be easier for the novice painter.
            I've worked in shops that have used all 3.
            when we did a switch over to RM from ppg it seemed to take the painters longer to get is sussed out with things like flop and tinting.

            it is really up to you.

            i would however go to a automotive paint supply to get your paint instead of napa. they are better suited to match your colours and can do a custom mix if needed

              Yes I 100% concur on that and yeah Dupont is good stuff too, I just prefer PPG as thats all I have ever used.

                Glasurit is what BMW uses. use what ever is cheap if your doing a DIY in a garage thing, the quality you see won't be there from hi-end products in a no professional environment.

                  Yeah I'm just gunna get whatevers cheaper. Not going for super quality. The cars more or less a beater. Just wanna keep it all one color.
