Is it me or do the e30 jacks blow?

Maybe mine is missing a part, but it looks like it'd be useless on anything but the flattest of surfaces.

Does anybody have a pic of one being used?

I've use the jack on half a dozen different BMWs, in the garage, street and once on dirt in the desert. It works well if you do it right. But ideally you do want to use it on a flat surface.

They blow just like every other jack supplied with every other car. So no, It's not just you.

just make sure its a flat surface and chock whichever wheel is neccesary. still a PITA jack though, I have a low pro mini aluminum in my trunk, capable of 1.75 tons or so it says. Fits almost perfect in the trunk.

I dont know of any other stock jack better than the e30 one. Its the best, sooo easy and the car feels quite stable on flat surfaces.

I need my stock jack to raise my car up enough to fit my 2" clearance low pro jack under the frame rails. lol

Curt thats a great idea. I cant fit a jack under my car either because its a vert so ive been trying to drive up on blocks but that isint working. Last time i just had mayhem pull up on the shock tower brace and slid the jack underneath.

Thats what I've had to do ever since the low pro jack broke. The regular craftsman one's saddle is so high.
