You can guess what that means god dammit! Leakdown test revealed what seems to be a bad exhaust valve in cylinder no. 5.

So now I need to source a good head to rebuild, fuck. This may kill the plans for a high comp N/A stroker build. I may just do a fresh headgasket and studs and boost it now since the rings and bottom end seem to be in great shape.

Before you declare the entire thing lost.

Adjust the valves to .30mm Drive the car about 25 miles...

Adjust to the correct .25mm and try the compression test again.

Sometimes the valve seats just need a little slap to knock the carbon out...

                  I'm considering it!

Going to have to talk to our local salvage guy and see what I can get an OBD-I swapped M52 for.

Why don't you just put a good used m20 head on for now? $200 head + $200 is misc. related parts.

I will if I can get a good deal on a quality head.

I have a good head 170k and does not tap at all. Its fucking amazing. I can probably get it pulled this week. Car was rear ended and totalled. I however cannot comp. test it because the car is extremely disassembled.

If it runs and doesn't make funny noises, there is no reason to look into things that may be wrong and will make you angry.

It runs decent, but has had an exhaust "tick" that is way louder than an exhaust leak should be, and yes the valves were adjusted only a few thousand miles ago.

DrMcDave, thanks for the offer. I may have already sourced one in-state from the same guy who welded up the rust in the car for me. If it falls through or he wants to much (freshly rebuilt with less 700 miles on it) I'll shoot you a PM and we can talk.
