    should I sell my s52 swapped e36 for 8k

I've been half ass trying to sell my e36 332i for about a year. Its modded to all hell, and the fact of the matter is I just don't want a modified DD anymore. There is only 50k on the s52 and the clutch was new this summer (UUC stage I). I paid 12,000 for it 2 years ago so I guess its not so bad. I was hoping to get 10k, but I am almost inclined to take the hit and get rid of it. Thoughts?

    ps. I really want a factory M car. e46 m3 or mcoupe

My ix will be serving daily duty.

$8k won't get you either of the cars you would like to replace yours with. However $8k in this economy seems like a good enough price for you to take it and run. Any pics of your car? May help with input from those who have not seen it before.

At this point, I say go for it! You have another car. You can save some money and purchase the new car later, or use the $8k as a down payment on a certified pre-owned.

    Cheers,

    Brian

well basically i'm just trying to avoid a payment. I've put some money into the e36 and its pretty badass, but I need a mostly stock car for work.

I would bring the car back to stock as possible and then sell it.

          Engine:
Stromung stainless steel cat back exhaust - $350-400 stock exhaust $75-100

          Exterior:
          - ZKW ellipsoid headlights with HIDs $300 stock headlights usually free, maybe $40
          18x8.5 inch ACS type II's $$$$? stock DS-IIs with ok tires $500

          Suspension:
GC Coilovers $750, stock suspension $100 - 200 with ok shocks
          BMW X-brace $80
          Racing Dynamics strut bar $80
Eibach F&R sway bars $200 stock sways free usually

So that's around $1400 net, if you can get the stock parts cheap, plus the cost of the wheels, which will likely put you over $2000.

Daily driving a modded car can suck eventually, on the other hand you'll be taking a big hit in the shorts on your current ride. If I had the cash I'd give you 8 for it tomorrow, nice car.

well I've been slowly replacing worn chassis parts/broken parts and its ending up costing me more than it would to buy a newer car with a warranty. The biggest problem is that I want a less modified car. I don't have time to tinker with a car anymore. A car like this requires some care like that. Its fast and fun but not what I want right now. Its a bit of a hit, but at the same time I can come out about even and it served me well for 2 years.

Car looks great! Love the schnitzers on it!!!! If the car is not being a financial burden, I would consider holding on to it for a while, at least until the economy picks back up a little. However, it could just depreciate more so it is a bit of a gamble. Good luck either way you go!

                      Cheers,

I rented my house to college students in august of this year so I need another house too. I'm clearing debt. I am a realtor and with the current lending situation its damn near impossible for me to get a loan without a cosigner because they have removed that stated income/stated assets package. I have two roomates coming with me that pay me 500/mo. each. So i'm coming into this not needed shit for money per month but still can't buy.

Car is worth every bit of 10-11k but I'm not having much luck yet.

Definetly a nice car. It's worth every penny of 10-11k, but the problem is finding a person thats willing to pay that much and knows the true value of it. You might not find them, so you might have to take the loss.

I should probably swap the engine into my IX (yes it can be done) and part the rest of it out. Finding a buyer really is the problem. I need a rich high school kid..

You need to ship the car to So Cal then. Tons of rich kids here. It may be difficult now days though because they are all getting "NEW" BMW's. ;-)
