I have much respect for the 318iS, and after driving one, I think they have tons of potential. And never did I say that one shouldn't be cared for. I just think that keeping a 160k car, any 160k car, in concours condition (particularly a base model) is retarded. And I can't think of a single argument against that.
Regardless of mileage, it is a well-cared for car and has supposedly been kept in good cosmetic condition. It would be a shame to ruin it, that's all.

If everyone goes FUH FAZE with their E30s, there won't be a clean one left.

Say what you want, and I'll say what I want, but saying every E30 should be dirty and molested just because they are nothing special is retarded. As much as I like track-ready cars......there is something cool about:
Most clean older cars with a nice appearance.......
Even if you cannot respect that, I can.

A street cruiser? Nobody ever turns their head at e30's. Period.
      Bullshit, and bullshit.

318is's (in good shape, mind you, not including the wrecks in junkyards around the country) are becoming more and more rare on the roads. It's estimated there's probably only 15-20,000 in the world still roadworthy. out of the original 41,234.

That makes a good shape 318is right around the same rarity as a good shape E30 M3 (of which there were only about ~18,000 made in the world, 4,996 of them belonging to the US.

While I would agree that they're not "collector's cars," the 318is certainly isn't the car that should be beat to death and not cared for...

If noone turns their heads at E30s, how come Randy Sparre's E30 gets/got so much attention? What about Jordan's? Trent's (R.I.P.) car? Chris (C///M)'s car? The McHenrys?

      You're full of it.
So if you say there are about 20,000 roadworthy 318iS's out there, that is 10x more than the roadworthy M3's that are left in America. How is that comparable?

Yeah, cause I said that.

Don't you think saying that every e30 owner going "FUH RAZE" is an exaggeration? Let's be realistic here.

C'mon man. I take a second look at any modified car. You know what I meant - let's not talk semantics here.

My bad. Go ahead being all "non-conformist."

We may disagree if a 160K 318is would be worth keeping mint, but I never said it should to be kept stock, but simply not just ripped apart. Whether you think clean E30s get attention or not, I can see and appreciate a cleaner older car when I see one.

People often suggest a M3 should be stripped and tracked, for that's where it belongs, but I always dig when I see E30 M3s on the street in mint condition, with perhaps a little touch on them.

Okay, I'll be non-conformist. 318iS's are the epitome of all things automotive.

I'm just saying, a 160k 318iS is not an amazing car. That's all.
