You are correct. The initial confirmation was 1 year, but it has since emerged that he has agreed to stay until 2012.

wow.. I am really surprised to see him back but I guess Mercedes and Ross Brown are on a roll and the car will be very good from the beginning of the season

I think people are forgetting Alonso and Ferrari when they start saying Michael will win already. , The only reason I cheered for Ferrari was because of Schumacher and then Kimi, but with Alonso and an extra half a year of development I think they will be back at the top with a vengeance. Still hoping Newey and Horner give Vettel a car that he can battle for the championship with though, always will be a Vettel fan.
My hopes for next year are Vettel to win, if not him then Michael, and if not him one of the Ferrari boys.

i agree. ferrari will be back with a vengeance.. i just hope merc, mclaren and redbull can stay competitive. i'd hate to see ferrari run away with it again.

i just cant wait to see him drive again. NO ONE drives like Schuie, he has the ability to push to the very end 110% every lap no matter where hes on track. Cant wait!

I still want to see Massa win a championship, but its going to be hard with Alonso in the same car.

IME, there were only 3 drivers that would actually push their cars during warmups and practice sessions that I witnessed: Alonso, Montoya, & M. Schumacher. They were the only ones that would push the fronts, slide the rears, & get the rotors glowing on the out lap. I haven't had the chance to witness it myself, but I tend to believe that Vettel would be one of the pack to do the same.

Its funny to see guiys in screen print t-shirts, jeans, and shorts working on an f1 car,,,, talk about an oxy-moron.... I wish them the best of luck but fear it will be the laughing stock of the grid.
