So I'm trying to replace my oil pan myself and from looking at it it looks like I have to take my transmission cover off??? I really don't know right now but someone if you have a link to something to help or any advice it would be greatly appreciated as I don't wanna pay $300 for a tow truck and soonekne else to repair. Thanks

first step is try a search....unbolt your engine mounts and jack the engine up, remove oil pan, replace.............

There is a plate/reinforcement kind of thing at the back of the oil pan, but it is only held on by a few bolts and I'm not even sure if you have to remove it.

there are either 4 or 6 torx bolts holding it on, but you can used the closed end of a normal wrench(9mm I think? experiment) to get them off

I just searched for "how to remove m20 oil pan" on google and this is the first result that comes up:

You should really try to search before you ask questions. In the words of John Lennon, "It's easy if you try...".

People really need to learn how to use Google. Here's an article, by me, step-by-step on how to do it.
