    No title. no no?

I have came across a 89 325i two door, black on black, five speed with rebuilt m20. I offered the guy 800 for hoots and he said maybe 1k. It has no title, but looks good from the pictures, btw I would never buy sight unseen.

The car has four lug e36 m3 replicas (17in), and eibach springs.

Anyone have carfax access lately? or should you ever buy a no title car?

      Umm, so it's stolen?

No title doesn't sound to good to me. Do you plan on parting the car?

had thought about driving it as is and rebuilding my m50 as a s50 then putting it in later. I guess you guys are right about the registering and stuff.

A grand is too much for a parts car, even though it is nice.

Is it just missing the pink slip or is there no title?

In Oregon, there is simply no way of replacing a title if the registerd owner can not be found. They also will not allow anyone to register a car or put plates on it with no title.

In Washington, you can do what they call a "reg only" and for three years you can drive the car, but if during that time the registered owner claims it, it is theirs.

So...law varies state to state...call your DMV.

I would buy it, hide it in another state, use some parts off of it and find a title.

                    Good Luck!

Aren't Washington rules just awesome? Steal a car and kill the owner and since they can't claim it the car becomes yours.. :)

I'd suggest having the guy go with you to the DOL/DMV and get a new title for it. If he is indeed the registered owner then it shouldn't be too much hassle. If he isn't the registered owner, then don't buy it, and call the cops cause it's most likely stolen. Then go to the police auction a month later and viola, nice car, auction prices.

I do not have time or patients to part a car out, besides the only reason I want it is for a car to drive while I perfect my engine, (perfect as is in FI)
