Yeah i got my MagnaFlow muffler on today. The tip feel off about 10 min on my secound drive out for the day .. So i had to get a new tip. The tip i got was like 25.99.. Kind of high but i wanted one like what i had.. I got new Bosch Platinum plus. And a new K&N airChargers ( As K&N calls it) and got some rims and tires. Got a story for your about the rims and tires. I went down to disscount Tires to get prices for tires. And the manger told me they were 110 each. So i was like ok cool ill come back. he came out and stop before i left and said he had some Bottle cap wheel with some new Yokohama tires on it and he would give them to me for 50 bucks each. I didn't beleave him at first but i said that i would come back and look at them. Once i came back i looked at them and they were in GREAT SHAPE. look like they only had been driven up and down the drive way about once! .. They are 205 60 r14s and had bottle top rims on it.. The tire model i beleave is a A-008R .. They are pretty good racing tires. So i gotz a great today! and got alot done on my car. Now im looking to get some springs ..

Coped from another local forum I visit. Heres some ramblings from a damn smart mechanical engineer:
"This will sound like technobabble, and Jody will surely make fun of me for this, but here is why no nitrous with platinum plugs (I also won't run them on a turbo car either!)
Platinum plugs are made with a platinum center electrode (duh) and some have platinum tip(s) on the ground electrode.
Platinum is a catalyst for the combustion of hydrocarbons (aka gas burning). That is why it is in Catalytic converters. Your next question is what the hell is a catalyst?
In any exothermic (releases heat) chemical reaction there is what is known as an "activation energy". You can think of this as an amount of energy needed to "get the ball rolling" or to start the reaction. Gas and air sitting in a room together won't just ignite - they need a spark (activation energy). the spark from the spark plug provides this activation energy.
The activation energy needed to start the reaction changes with a bunch of variables:
-A/F ratio (the richer the mix, the more energy needed)
-temperature (the colder, the more energy needed)
-pressure effects it a little, but not much.
In sort of a strange phenomenon, the presence of a catalyst in the mixture LOWERS the required activation energy.
You might think this is a good thing.
It is for a car with a marginal ignition system, cold climates, poorly tuned engine, etc. etc. That's why it is used in factory cars - they are abused, and have to start in Alaska with a worn-out coil and old crusty wires. You get the point.
This is however BAD in an engine that may already be pushing the limits of detonation.
remember detonation happens when the piston is compressing the mixture (and therefore heating it - and as it gets hotter, the required activation energy goes down) and it gets so hot that it lights off the mixture before it's supposed to light off - trying to push the engine backwards, slamming the whole piston, pin, rod, crank assembly like a hammer. It, of course doesn't go backwards, but the resulting shock really heats stuff up (if your bearings lived through it) and eventually you'll melt a piston or ring.
If your engine is already on the verge of detonating (this is the life of a nitrous, forced induction, or very high compression N/A car!), it is absolutely imperative that the ignition of the fuel/air mixture happens when you want it to. So the last thing you need is a catalyst in your combustion chamber lowering your activation energy (literally encouraging detonation!).
Catalytic converters are in your exhaust to help burn unburnt hydrocarbons (fuel, aka "HC" to the emission peeps). That is why when they heat up, exhaust containing some HC's passes through the Cat. converter and burns off the remaining HC's so the sniffer at the emissions place is happy.
The really interesting thing about a catalyst is that it doesn't ever get used up. The presence of such elements sorta helps the reaction along - and never goes away."2001 BMW M3 - ex grand am cup racecar

I'm just waiting for you to put those wheels on your car and come over to my place so I can steal them and use them for track tires
The car sounded great going down the road last night with the new muffler man. Nice work!!
