Yeah, that's a LTW it seems.

A buddy from HS and fellow CCA member has a 96 LTW with custom heatshield, Momo steering wheel, some uber rare and expensive suspension setup, and 996TT brakes.
(On a sad note, he only has the car his father was trying to sell for $45K because he sadly passed away, and he inherited it)

Hmmm, wish I had a picture somewhere.......

But even with these mods (just the brakes could put it in the highest BMWCCA Auto-X class he says), he still got beat by a J-stock E30 M3. However, the E30 guy was well experienced and has been involved in CCA racing.....even if my buddy drove the hell out of that car and was pretty fucking good.

It's uber kickass though. Oh, and the UUC exhaust you can hear from about 2 blocks away, at least.

Very nice ride.....even if it is an E36 :P

The LTW was available in 1995 only and not many of them were sold here in the US. I think the total is less than 200, don't know exactly. Sometimes they show up in the Roundel classifieds where the seller usually asks top dollar for it.

To me, Canadian Eurospecs are a much better buy. Even more rare, much faster. There's always at least 1 of the 45 for sale, too. Maintenance parts are expensive as fuck, but meh.

How were the Canadian ones different? I've heard that some of the euro engines made it in a few of the Canadian cars. I thought they only had the LTW in the US.

that what he mentioned at least, possibly I asked him about the engine and he said it had a 96 in there......not sure. It's had so much custom work, I wouldn't put it past a possibility of a 3.2 OBD-I.

but upon looking at UUC digest archives, his father had it listed as a 95 LTW.

I saw him driving into Napa last week while I was driving home from work.
                    Maybe he lives over here?

You are correct, we never had any LTW's. What I meant was the 1994 Eurospec models we recieved, (45 of them). They had the 286hp S50 (invidividual throttles, etc.), glass ellips, etc. Although there were only 45 sold there is always a random one for sale in Toronto/Montreal/Vancouver, probably due to the 2-3x cost of maintenance parts.

That is a LTW from the looks of it, not that someone couldn't throw the lightweight bolt-ons on a white M3 though. ;)

Only 125 were in the USA. At ~2900 pounds, I don't consider it much of a lightweight. :?

hell, strip any old regular m3 and you've got a lighter car than BMW's Marketing Departments "Lightweight"
