Well I have a set of BavAuto Cabrio specific springs, they were new on 4/2/07
and the red finish (paint or epoxy) has flaked off all over the springs. I got these knowing that it was an issue but figured a BavAuto would help me out getting them exchanged.
The paint isnt flaking due to being rubbed or dropped , its splitting where the coil is stretching the most.
Ive had plenty of sets of springs, for lifting trucks, for motorcycle suspention, the works
Ive never seen a set's finish detioriate so quickly.
none the less when i asked BavAuto about this they were pretty cool up unitl i asked for a replacement set (ive got a recipt) they said that they are not warranted for finsih and to hit them with a steel brush and paint. I pused saying that this kind of poor finish would be expected in maybe say a 10 year old spring not somthing 2 years old. THey shot me down again and offered a discount on a new set ( that will do the same thing)
I declined.
I'm in the business of VOC (voice of customer) for a major electronics manufacturer, if we see somthign like this we take care of the customer.
What are your guys thoughts? am i a crazy asshole customer or should they replace them and take it up with thier supplier?
