In reality it is nothing but a piece of menstrual slag, slowly sliding down the inner thigh of life. It is a stain on the bedsheet we call Nissan's engineering reputation. It is - in other words - only good for use as a boat anchor or possibly to throw at French people. Sorry Frenchies*.
Why you would bother with an RB20 when there are FAR more superior choices out there is beyond me. An RB25 would be better as a near-stock motor, or if you were going to build something up, grab an RB25DET head and stick it on an RB30 bottom end. You can buy RB30 bottom-ends out here farken CHEAP, too.
Otherwise, just buy a complete RB30ET - it was only ever sold in Australia but it'd be a lot cheaper than buying an RB26 in the USA and rebuilding that, no?

i know the rb20 sucks. you need too cool down there. just because you know something doesnt mean you have to write paragraphs telling everyone how wrong they are.
but i confused the r31 with the dr30(fj20det) they look the same.

PS: the red car is a DR30. The black car is an R31 GTS-R. So you're still wrong. Just thought I'd point that out.Last edited by Iain; 07-06-2009, 03:00 PM.Pork Hunt Motorsport

No worries :)
If you like DR30s here is Aussie touring car legend Glenn Seaton driving a DR30 coupe (FJ20DET) around Bathurst in 1987. He was still a novice at this stage and all of a sudden after the race started in hot conditions, it suddenly started raining at the top of the track. Old-school turbo + lag + primitive suspension + slicks + rain = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pqszux7F1JA He's doing over 240km/h when it steps out on the straight, too...Pork Hunt Motorsport
