      M8 prototype. I believe the engine was called the s70/3 or something like that. They put a variation of the engine in Mclarens.

        S70/3 was the motor used in the McLaren F1 GTR. The whole V12 series was referred to as the M70 (used in the E31, E32, and E38,) it was available in either the 5.0 liter variation and a 5.4 liter variation. I think all M70's were 24V, although the later 5.4 liter may have been 48V, I'm not sure. The S70/1 was a prototype motor for the M version of the 8er, never used if I remember right. The S70/2 was used in most road-going McLaren F1's and the V12 LMR race car campaigned in ALMS by BMW.

        The motor in the picture is the 850CSi motor, the S70B56.

          No, it's definitely the engine from the M8 prototype. The CSI engine only has 2 throttle bodys, and that one clearly has 12.

            Eh, didn't even notice that. So it must be the S70/1, and the url confirms that.
