He presided over the e36 and e46. He has been head of design since 1992.

I hated the first "Bangle" cars, but only at first. They were a step in a crazy new direction, that pretty soon every car company was copying. Maybe thats why you think new altimas look so similar?

Love him or hate him, the man is a trend-setter in a huge way.

The front end on e39s always looked smushed to me, like a stretched e46.

I'm going to toss this out there-- I like all of BMW's designs.. ever (except the E46 compact). Some arent for me, but I wouldnt call any of them eye sores.

I agree to some extent. I could live with almost any BMW model ever produced...except for....

                      or...

I just couldn't do it, I could barely live with any SC-made BMW.

^^I even like those. I like the X6 for the fact that it is availible with diesel V8 that makes stupid torque and the damn thing turns incredibly (apparently as good as or better than the new M3).

I like the X3 for the ground clearance. Something I havent had since my first 4-door automagic eta. I tried to talk my mom into getting one after she found out how great the city mileage of an E39 M5 was. But there arent enough 6-speed equipped X3's in good condition.

I doubt he will have any control over that car getting made at all. He doesnt green light models into production. heres too much money to be made by smearing the ///M logo over everything, Im surprised BMW held out this long.
