    E30 vs E36 radiator?

I plan on buying a new radiator for the swap as the old one is pretty crudded out.

They seem to be about the same price, any preference for one over the other?

If you have an M20, why would you want to try another radiator? The E30 radiator is more than up to the task of cooling an M20.

Did you read my post? The part about the radiator that's in there needs to be replaced?

Hence asking if there is any reason to go with an E36 over an E30, vice versa.

aren't E36 radiators notorious for cracking at the plastic necks where the hoses attach?

I know E30 radiators use plastic too but it's almost unheard of. Thus the reason E36 owners switch to all aluminum.

My stock e30 rad. cracked at the upper neck but, thats with 200k miles on it and when I pulled it out I held it up to the light and about 90% of it was pluged up with bugs and junk

Didn't you read mine? Why consider a swap of a standard part which does it's job more than adequately? Do you have too much time on your hands?

                    ^Cause I'm going 24v, hence the question.

That's what I wanted to know, thank you sir. I'm still not completely up on all the 24v/E36 type stuff since I previously had been planning a stroker M20.

Most car radiators are usually designed bigger than they need to be, specially with BMW. to be honest I think the best radiator is the one from the late 318i, the one with the built in overflow tank. specially if your doing a 24v swap it will save room in the engine bay.
