Saying you can't stand the "VW Scene" doesn't really make sense, unless you're a total hater. Is the "scene" for E30 enthusiasts the same as that for the douchenozzles in E46's? Would you compare the E46 "scene" to the enthusiasts with 2002's? Probably not. Same applies for the VW crowd. As an early Watercooled enthusiast, it's entertaining to see what some trendy guys are doing with their cars. But (fortunately) most of it doesn't trickle down.

I understand the dislike for the socal (aka 1/4 of vortex) with the stupid slammed cars on stretched tires, but real mk1/mk2 guys are pretty badass for the most part. Just like the E30 crowd, performance guys and eurotrash...you can't lump them together. When cars get cheap/popular enough for teenagers to afford, that is what happens, they get riced out, abused, etc.

It really doesn't matter what kind of car you drive, if your a douchebag then your a douchebag....its certainly independent. However, from an opinion perspective there are plenty of tools that drive mkIII+ and think they are the boss of cars. yesterday I saw a mk5 clean gti lookin pretty good and I liked it, but then I saw the driver....lol it was pretty clear he was only down for one thing....to look cool

I agree with the above post, however...

From a series of tests, I've found that 100% of guys who drive a grand am/prix ARE a douche bag. It's just one of those things that's somehow always true against logic.

They're usually accompanied by Oil Spill oakley sunglasses, and an automatic transmission that they try their hardest to drive like it's a manual. Ram Air means it's faster then your car.
