    Steering Column Removal

I've searched and searched and searched. Nothing definitive. I need to replace the column because the splines on the column are stripped as well as the splines on my steering wheel. I got a new wheel which has perfect splines, and it doesn't want to mate with the stripped spline (obviously.) I need to go to the yard and get a new column. I looked up on realoem and got this diagram, however, I do not know how to remove it. Please help me out guys as I need to get this done for my interior swap.

Column comes out by pushing it forward (away from driver). You will need to undo the steering knuckle from the column. Once everthing else is disconnected from it, you can push it forward and it will pop out of the slots up top. Angle it out of the way of the upper bracketry/slots and pull it back into the car.

    Is this an airbag car?

I have a non-airbag column I can sell you, if needed.

Yes it's an airbag car. From what I read, the airbag columns are easier to replace. Thanks for your input. Will do this when I have some time. How do you undo the knuckle?

I can take pictures of the non airbag setup since I still have the shell (in pieces).

take off the important stuff. under the lower cover and there are two 13mm bolts. loosen the nut on the column [near the pedals] and hit the column towards the front of the car with a hammer.

Why towards the front of the car? Wouldn't you need to pull it out?
