    engine sound clips on R3V main page

    when are we ever going to have that section up?
    It has always said "coming back soon" as long as I can remember.
    It would be an awesome idea to have all the different engine types for the e30 and then some of the more common exaust setups for all of those different types to see what your particular car would sound like.

    just a thought... what do you guys think?

          I think the reason it's not up has more to do with bandwidth costs than the availability of sound clips.

              actually IIRC the clips were all from S14.net
              Site owner didnt appreciate that so much... hense why it went down.

              If people start recording and submiting clips for Jordan to use, I'm sure he'd be happy to host them. Small sound bits dont suck down that much BW.

                      What do you want the clips to consist of? There's several E30s around here w/varying exhausts, and I can probably run around and get clips of most of them.

                      When I say "consist," I mean, like "once to 3.5k, then to 5k, then to redline" or what?

                              I would prefer sound clips of the exhuast under load at WOT. revving the engine in neutral doesn't sound the same.

                                  In the car or outside? I agree, the swisscheese airbox doesn't sound different from stock revving, but while moving at WOT, it's a whole new animal.

                                      outside would sound like alot of wind noise....

                                      best to have the recording deviced above the exhuast in the trunk or something. It needs to be well shielded from wind.

                                          Hmm... I could sit someone in the back seat w/a laptop, and run a mic cable through the firewall into the trunk. Would that work?
