    How loud is your exhaust?

My car managed to set off another car's alarm in the parking lot at work today.

I have a m50 manifolds, you know the heavy ones that don't flow that great, and a 2.25 inch custom exhaust with a SS magnaflow muffler. It gets kinda annoying when your ears begin to ring, but dropping the hammer on the interstate and scarign the locals is awesome

I really want to quiten it down though. I guess I will put a muffler about mid way back.

I dont think the borla makes it much quieter. Maybe a racing cat or a resonator will help some.
      Im now E30less.

I did install a cat and it did nothing for the sound, I just want it generally quiter.

I set off a factory Civic alarm last week with my almost new stock exhaust.

I am talking about having 1300 rpms on the tach. If I were to rev it there would be mayhem.

Oh, I was pulling out of my spot in 1st, he was beside me. I was probably at 900rpm when it went off.

buddy of mine with a neon ran through the parking lot at school with no exhaust.

he just rolled in half way through the day and pegged limiter as he rolled through the lot.
                  very funny.
                  set off 5 alarms.

Below 4100rpm, mine is rather tame. Once the timing slides via VANOS, the exhaust note is completely different, and pretty god damn loud. :?

I'm running factory stainless manifolds, a single 2.5" with a race resonator and a Dynomax straight-through muffler. I know, not exactly a recipe for a quiet system. ;) Part of me wants to throw on a different resonator (quieter) and a quieter muffler, as the car is a daily driver. However, after having my brother rip past me in the car (while standing road side), and hearing the car wind 7000 through the gears--I think I'll leave it the way it is, for now. ;)

Open manifolds on an M/S50 is fucking insane. I love the sound of that.

My Eta sets off alarms daily. Stock manifolds, cherry bomb in place of cats, to a dual tip ebay muffler. A really cheap setup that sounds a LOT better than you probably think it does.

I loved mine with nothing but the headers, but I do wish it was silent, I work at a Credit Union and they can hear it up on the Third floor. When you work with all the AVPs and VP and CEO you do not want to be making so much noise ;)

Wheb mine hits 2800 rpms the vanos kicks in and it sounds like it is a ricer but below that it sounds like a SB 350.
