    Top Tier Gas

I've known about this for awhile, but I thought I'd share it with everyone else here just to raise the awareness level and get the max life out of their cars.

    ALWAYS go by this list.

TOP TIER is developed and enforced by some of the leading automotive manufacturers and supplied by participating fuel retailers.

Edit: I'm not sure if this has been posted before. If so, I apologize.

Edit 2: I also forgot to mention that Mobil/Exxon is a Top Tier Gas retailer even though they are not listed. E-mail them and they will also tell you they are.

No BP? Interesting, I always heard that they had some good gas, low in sulfur but I'm not sure about the quality of the detergents.

        Shell V-Power for me then.

Thanks for the link, very informative.

i didnt really give a shit about what went into the e30, arco/bp, costco, locals. but the m5 really runs better on chevron/shell/76/top tier gas. before the rebuild, it used to ping like a bitch if i put cheap premium in it. so i said fuck it and went for the $4.95/gal stuff.

I used BP for a while, but then their quality spiraled. I use Shell hi-po fuel all the time now.

I knew I put Shell/Chevron in there for a reason.

                  +1

I've seen plenty of cars knock just from using shitty Arco, Space Age, etc. brand gas and have always bought Chevron/Texaco, Shell, or 76

I hate living way up north. The only gas stations around me are BP. Unless I want to drive 20 miles to fill up.

Nice, when I took my car to NGP (vw tuner east coast) I asked them what gas they recommend, they told me stick with good brands like Shell/Texaco. So thats all my babies ever see is premium shell/texaco

Yea. All I ever get is Mobil or Shell since those are the only good brands around me. Although, the quality of gas in Mobil various sometimes. I went to a Mobil by my house a couple of weeks ago with 2.29 for Premium and it's good quality and all, but when I went to the cheaper Mobil a few blocks away the other day, I noticed my car started right up in 17~ degree weather and performed much better.
