Ive got Norton Corporate 2003 and its worked fine so far. Ive use Norton Corporate since version 7. Never had a problem with a virus (its found some in files I have downloaded but nothing was ever installed).

Like anything it can be $140 or it can be free.

So it goes to show that there are plenty of opinions.
The reason I switched to Norton was back when 7 came out it owned what McAfee had at the time. Now I stick with it because all you have to do to restart your free year of updates is to reinstall it.

Im sure McAfee has some good stuff too as Ken says, but Norton isnt junk (at least not Corp 2k3).

The one that should burn in hell is Innoculan. on my new laptop (corporate hand me down) It was running and updated and Panda (free over the inet) found 26 infections (i.e. installed and running) but wouldnt kill it. Installed Norton and my computer became death valley. Since no virus has made it to even being close to infecting. Norton covers emails and active-x like a champ.

I've worked on many computers running McAfee that still had viruses, load up Norton Corporate and it cleans them. I'll stick with Norton.

Also check for spyware though, it's more of a problem these days than viruses. Run more than one spyware remover and also run CWShredder, it's the only one that will get rid of Cool Web Search.

you know what they say, the best protection is abstinence.. ;)

seriously.. virus programs are fairly pointless IMO. oh gee, a new virus just came out and there's not an update for it yet.. that does a lot of good. I don't run A/V and I haven't had a virus since my roomate was downloading shit on P2P networks and infected my machines over the LAN (like 4 years ago). SInce then I no longer share my drives over the network (and I don't have idiot roomates anymore either).

I *do* run spyware removal software though (as well as having a firewall on my router)..

Stick with NAV corporate. Burn that "internet security" garbage, it causes nothing but hassles.
