I accurately deciphered my mileage with opposite forms of driving.

I thought you guys might be interested in this, for shits and giggles. I have an M50 2.5 with MAF, larger injectors, ///M3 cams, ebay headers, Supersprint exhaust, CAI w/ heat shield, and custom chip. 91 octane.

With me driving normally. (half maniac and half normal):
    -18.75mpg

With me driving uncharacteristically clamly (shifting between 2.5-3K RPM's, not downshifting when slowing down, coasting in neutral when possible, and generally driving as if I had injected lots of cc's of heroin):
    -22.03mpg

I never do these kinds of things that require time, dedication, mathematical skill, and general discipline so I thought I would post it up.

I've been driving slow enough to drive Ms. Daisy since I last put a full tank in mine.

    Shifting right before 2k
    No downshifts on brake
    Coasting
Rolling in 5th gear doing 20-25mph in residential areas
Cruise control in the freeway abiding by the speed limit

So far I'm up to 100 miles driven, only a quarter of a tank gone

My goal for this tank, 400 miles before the light comes on.

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

My best is 35mpg. 750km on about 50L. Early shifting, plenty of cruise control and barely any idling.

I can never drive slow for long enough to get a good normal person reading. My Mom had to drive my car for a week though and she got 25mpg in all city driving. I get around 15 highway, lol.

My 318iS gets me 25mpg.... driving like an asshole and with A/C on full blast. :)

My 325i gets me 3mpg.... driving like an asshole and no A/C components left in the car :( Does get 30mpg cruising on the highway though :D

By the way Mariano, since you're running the numbers, how's the current weather in SoCal? I haven't seen your weather reports in ages! :)

I figured out last night that my M50 in my e36 crapbox sucks down a good 16/18 liters every 100km with a broken/ disconnected o2 sensor and 18" wheels at 170kmh!-- kinda sux!

That's believable. I have averaged 45 mpg on highway trips in a dodge neon.
