    Blown s50 e30

On my way to Kansas last week I stopped in OKC to pick up some parts for my buddies e36. The shop was installing a supercharged s50 into an e30. Here's some pics.

They had an aluminum radiator custom made to fit in the nose section to solve the clearance problems.

the sure know how to get the ponies, with those m50 manifolds

I almost take that back, considering the flywheel is not even on, maybe they are just leaving them on for clearence stuff; also the fact the engine is about 2 inches too far forward.

Ya, the first pics were on Thursday, the ones of it sitting in there are Friday. They said they just dropped it down in there to test fit a few things.

rolled fenders and 9.5 inch wide tires.

I have 7inch wide tires right now and my m50tu easily roasted them, first and second and gave a NICE sqwak into third.

That much power will squwack about anything under the back. I kept looking at it and saying... "I hope you're putting bigger brakes on it too!"

                    the man has a point.

What did it come out of? Looks like the supercharger is old also. Id wanna look over the engine for excessive carbon in the valvetrain or crankcase because often supercharged systems run rich to prevent detonation since you cant intercool them (well, most people dont run water/air).

You should have seen the carbon in the headers I pulled off that SCS52 for my engine.
                    Im now E30less.

vortech, paxton, eaton and ProCharger are the only supercharger i'd put my car with, and they each have there own godd designs. it depends on application which i would go with.

Whats the elbow connection on the blower? Oil feed perhaps?

I have the powerdyne based Dinan kit on the E36 and I don't have that. And while powerdyne < Vortec ; boost > NA :).

I have never undersood why they do nto run a FMI? Mount the damn thing onthe passenger side, rund the tubing similar to a turbo setup, then you do not have to run overly rich and all the power you want is there safely!
