ok...you can't call me paco :)
thank you for the welcome. i was hoping this board was pretty indepth, i think you pretty much answered my question.
thank you, good luck on yours too. that is the thread that brought me to this board.
that's the kind of info i'm looking for (about the arches and is's). thank you. And i had a feeling i'd be replacing just about everything... that's why it's going to take a little bit of time for me to get one, have to finish paying off the goat. broke everything in that car and it's costing me.
thank you for the welcome. if i had a place to put it myself i'd be very very interested.

welcome. why wouldnt we like an ls7 swap. these cars arent classics. they are 20 y/o shitboxes that are fun and cheap. id get an early car to fit more meat out back due to the higher wheel arches. a project like that is going to make you replace most everything anyway so it really doesnt matter much otherwise. obviously the is's have a little nicer interior if youll be keeping that. welcomeLeave a comment:

Good luck, I'm in the process of planning an LS1 swap myself.

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and would just like to introduce myself. Name is Zach, but Paco works just fine. I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
As of right now I do not own an e30 but would like to in the near future. So I'm here to be a sponge and soak up as much info about these cars as I can. I would like to know the little things about them that really separate the different years from one another. I have to be honest, the e30 that I would pick up would be for an engine swap project. It would house a LSX base engine. I know some diehards wont like that, but it's all good :)
Little bit about me. I'm a Manufacturing Engineer at Continental Powertrain division (formerly SiemensVDO Automotive). The plant I work at does mainly gasoline fuel injectors, but with another one of our plants being consolidated into us, we'll be working a lot with diesel in the coming months.
Currently I have a 2005 Pontiac GTO that is twin turbo'd. It puts out some good power, but it's a pig (race weight of ~4000lbs). Here's a quick pic of it:
Thanks for your time and I hope to learn a lot from the boards.Tags: None
