Not compared to the freaking Hawaiian VOLCANIC ISLANDS!!!!! I lived in Millilani in the 80's man they have serious volcanoes in Hawaii, went to the big island and walked around in volcanic fields, you could see the lava just oozing & cooling/heating really cool!
Actually, the eruption in 1980 was like the biggest in recorded history. It created the largest landslide ever known and blew like half the mountain off.
Ya but the Hawaiian islands are pre recorded history & completely created by...............VOLCANOES!!!!!!!!! and they are still in a constant state of flux. Literally

There is actually a new island being created right now, they have underwater videos of the eruptions building up on each other, getting closer to the surface...

Maybe in 10-20 thousand years, it'll break the surface :P

Now what would be cool is if Mt. Hood expoded, and Portland stopped existing.

It was really quite underwhelming... saw it while I was at work, though I did hear they are saying we'll likely get more soon (somewhat contrary to the link above).

There are more earthquakes and they are more severe now. They are saying that it could erupt again within hours. More severe this time.
