    no I think this is true. When i was in munich there was a bunch of newspapers with that picture of both logos. I of course couldn't read it, but that's probably what it said

    most likely fake. Just did a quick scan of the financial news and there were two BMW related stories, but nothing about any mergers. both companies are hurting but they are doing way better overall than the big boys (toyota, GM, ford, chrysler). the last report I saw BMW was down about 15% and daimler 20%, while the big companies are down 50-70%. Of course Chrysler still sells more cars in the USA in 1 quarter than BMW does in a year...

    nice... I have a lot of respect for M-Benz sticking to its heritage, so perhaps this is wonderful news. Maybe BMW will look like BMW once again.

    But this deal seems to be insurance for both company survival, so this shouldn't effect neither brand.
